SO, HOW DID WE GET HERE.

Two brothers, Ivan and Alex Wall, have always had a love of drawing and making things right from an early age. We both progressed from art colleges to working in the creative industry at various agencies in the UK. However, something was missing: the freedom to make our own decisions. Over a pint in 2003, we decided to start our own creative company. Design Wall.

Design Wall specialises in interior graphics, and we have put a lot of stuff on a lot of walls for large and small companies over the past 20 years or so.

As much as we love walls, there was an itch that needed scratching - we've always had the desire to make things. Having watched our dad set up a wood workshop, hand-turning beautifully crafted bowls, and Ivan learning his furniture-making skills in a remote part of Devon, we developed a passion for bringing our experience of design and printing together with making.

The opportunity arose during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 when unit 15A became available, and we had the chance to design and build our workshop here in rural Derbyshire. We took the plunge and invested in the latest state-of-the-art CNC, laser cutter, and large-format UV printer, marking the beginning of the WALLMADE journey.

Over the last five years, we have honed and developed our making skills to establish our product range. Whilst creating some larger bespoke furniture pieces, we have also been developing and enhancing our smaller product range for the retail sector, primarily for independent shops, galleries, and artists seeking something unique to promote and sell.
